Here is a game I made up for my pocket chart that goes with our bears theme. These are some sight words that I expect my students to be able to recognize/read at this point in the year. We call them "Les mots magiques" and we practice them frequently and in many different ways. Using games is (obviously) their favourite way to practice so I made up this game.
I will hide a baby seal or fish behind one or two of the polar bear cards in my pocket chart and the students have to guess where it is (by saying 'un mot magique' and then turning over that same card).
The cards are here but you will find that the fish is not.. I sometimes make them out of scrapbook paper or even get fishy candies or crackers instead. (This makes the game even more fun!)
